The project reconstructs the path-like structure found in open-world, sandbox games used by gamers to explore and navigate the game worlds and attempts to simulate the experience of walking in videogames.
Follow the Leader is a photographic installation that recreates the experience of navigating and exploring the world of a photo-realistic, open-world sandbox video game. The installation is intended to invite the viewer to step into the role of a player and interact and engage with the installation by altering the sequence of the images. The viewer thus creates their own pathways.
The installation is intended to reflect how physical landscapes and environments are often constructed and thus navigated using pre-determined pathways and planned routes.
